This family musical is the story of rock and roll singer Conrad Birdie, an Elvis Presley type, who has a pompadour and thick sideburns, wears gaudy gold costumes, and speaks in a rugged voice. Conrad will bid a typical American teenage girl, Kim MacAfee of Sweet Apple, Ohio, good-bye with an all-American kiss. Everyone in town is turned upside down, including Hugo who has recently gotten “pinned” to Kim.
